Upcoming Parks Levy Information

Overview
Voters will see a 10-year renewal levy for park maintenance and operations on the May 5, 2026, ballot. The current combined parks levy, first approved in 2011, will stop funding the parks at the end of 2026. The renewal supports parks maintained by the Clark County Park District/ National Trail Parks & Recreation District. This is not a tax increase. Your tax is based on 2011 assessed home values and is still set at a rate not to exceed 0.6 mill. That is about $21 annually per $100,000 of the auditor’s appraised home value. The auditor’s value is used for taxes and is not the market value.

Parks & Public Spaces
This funding supports the daily care of 33 parks spanning over 2,000 acres and 30+ miles of trails. It helps keep green spaces clean and open, maintains trail surfaces and signs, and supports access to open spaces for walking, biking, and time in nature.

Infrastructure
The levy maintains public venues and facilities that people use every day. This includes restrooms, shelters, athletic fields, playgrounds and community spaces.

Protection & Care
Funds support the long-term care of historical properties, interpretive areas, and nature preserves. Work includes caring for prairies, forests, and waterways, managing invasive species, and protecting wildlife habitats.
