Construction of the dog park in Old Reid Park began the week of April 25,
2005. The canine area was named "Wiggley Field", which was selected by the Dog Park Committee and approved by the NTPRD Board. The name was selected through a naming contest conducted by the committee and the Springfield News-Sun. The winner of the contest was Jean
Chepp.
