Get Up and Go is a quality after-school program conducted by the National Trail Parks and Recreation District and offered to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at the Tecumseh Local School District.

This free program provides quality and evidence-based programming with fun fitness games, and activities along with nutrition education in a manner that recognizes the unique strengths, abilities and differences in each student.  Field trips are taken to local destinations, such as hiking at local parks, Wittenberg University or the NTPRD Chiller. Special guests provide a wide range of fitness activities such as martial arts, yoga, Zumba and more. Healthy snacks are provided each week.

Staff from the Ohio State University Extensions SNAP-Ed program provides nutrition education for the Get Up and Go program. Ohio SNAP-Ed youth programming teaches children how to make healthy food choices, read labels, and get plenty of physical activity. The Get Up and Go After School program is funded by the United Way of Clark, Champaign and Madison Counties.

Registration forms for the Get Up and Go After School program are available at New Carlisle Elementary and Donnelsville Elementary beginning in August.
