A new dog park opened in Old Reid Park on June 18, 2005.
A volunteer Dog Park Committee
planned the park and is raising the necessary funds to develop it. Current funding is sufficient to complete the general construction but an additional
$6,500 is needed to add the additional amenities, additional benches and water lines, necessary to make it an even more special area.

The entry fee is $5 per family and swimming will be for dogs only. There will be information booths, gift bags, concessions and a lot of fun for our four legged swimmers. The proceeds from the admissions will go directly to the
Wiggley Field Dog Park.
Construction of the new dog park in Old Reid Park got underway the week of April 25,
2005. The canine area has a new name "Wiggley Field", which was selected by the Dog Park Committee and approved by the NTPRD Board. The name was selected through a naming contest conducted by the committee and the Springfield News-Sun. The winner of the contest was Jean
Chepp.
